The Victorian village of Stanford is situated 20kms passed Hermanus on the road to Gansbaai. It has the third most historically preserved buildings in the Cape.
It is a popular area for bird-watching and provides easy access to the coast for whale watching and the beaches of Hermanus.
There are several well-known wine estates in the region and a recently established wine route.
The local cheese farm Kleinriver Cheese Farm, produces internationally award wining cheese. Picnic Lunches available.

The Birkenhead brewery started brewing craft beers long before it was fashionable and provides an excellent range of craft beers and light meals.
The local restaurants include the much talked about Graze cafe,
all serving locally sourced products on the menu.
